Digital Printing
What is a Giclée
Giclée is a high resolution
digital print made from an archival ink and media
combination. Giclée is a recognized fine
art print category like lithographs and serigraphs,
and is considered the world's preferred technique
for reproducing original works of art and for printing
digitally created art and fine art photography.
Giclée printmaking has opened up new markets
for one-of-a-kind and short run limited edition
artwork.
Are Giclée Prints Better?
Giclée prints look and feel
like original art.
Since Giclée printmaking
is digital throughout the entire process, there
is much more control of color and greater opportunity
for interaction. The process allows the reproduction
to be printed with thousands more colors, shades
and hues than traditional offset printing methods.
Giclée provides much higher resolution and
more reproducible colors than other printmaking
techniques.
The Giclée Process
- The original art is scanned to
create a digital file of the image
- The reproduction is printed using
an eight color digital inkjet printing process
in which hundreds of inkjets spray millions of
micro-bursts of ink per second, onto genuine artist
canvas or paper, creating thousands of shades
of rich color.
Note: Renoir Fine Art uses a slower printing
process to ensure the highest and clearest quality
reproduction.
- The reproduction is then hand-coated
with an ultra violet varnish to ensure UV light
protection and to protect the surface from scratching
and other occurences.
- The finished piece is then stretched
onto solid wood bars, and framed in your choice
of frame.
- Each replica is inspected, stamped
and signed, guaranteeing quality.
Prints by Renoir Fine Art are produced
using a ENCAD NovaJet® thermal inkjet
printer by Encad, Inc a Kodak company, to
bring you the highest quality digital reproductions
available anywhere in the world today.
The Giclée Media
Renoir Fine Art uses premium canvas
for its giclée on canvas, as well as other
media, including watercolor papers and glossy photographic
papers, which have been primed for the Giclée
process.
What are the Advantages of Giclée
Printing?
Once an image is archived, additional
reproductions can be made with minimal effort and
cost. Thus, the upfront cost of mass production
is eliminated and printing is done on demand.
Another tremendous advantage to
Giclée printing is that artwork can be reproduced
to almost any size and on various media, giving
the ability to customize prints for a specific client.

What are the frames made of?
Renoir Fine Art Inc. offers the

heat, and other elements which might cause the frame
to buckle or damade. Our frames come in a variety
of materials solid wood with various finishes,
metal, molded plastic, and composites. The reality
