He exhibits at the Salon some springlike landscapes
of his native Burgundy and especially of the countryside under
the snow, worthy of the Flemish plains under the brush of the
17th century painters; one thinks of Guillaumin in front of his
broad drawing, a little vague, and his tone with dominant mauves.
