Léon Giran-Max was painting especially landscapees. He also was one
of the founders and the treasurer of the Salon dAutomne.
He exhibited at the Salons of the Nationale and
of the Indépendents and was appointed a knight of the Légion
dhonneur for his artistic accomplishment. A major exhibition
of the artists landscapes of Pontoise, Nice, and Spain was
held at the Galerie Le Barc de Boutteville, Paris in the spring
of 1898.
The obvious sincerity of his landscapes forces
the sympathy of the spectator. He plays with charm of the water
gleaming under the sun, of the pink tiled roofs stacked on the
sides of the hills.
